Hello there,

I have multiple clients hosted on Azure and all are working great.

Recently, i am deploying Azure 3CX Marketplace image and 3CX services are failing frequently. Did something change with the new image on MarketPlace? Anyone else having the similar issue?

I have deployed this image 8 times but same results.. services start to fail after few hours.

Thank you

To get a bit more information on this:

• Is this happening only with this specific instance?
• If yes, is it a PBX you configured from scratch or did you restore a backup?
• Also, what services fail, is it always the same ones?
• How do you resolve this, do you start the services manually, do you reboot the machine?
• When you say you've deployed this image 8 times, are you referring to a VM image? If yes, I'd recommend redeploying from scratch and using the 3CX backup instead, provided of course you have a 3CX config to restore.
• How many extensions do you have on this instance and what Azure instance type did you use for this configuration?

Thank you Chris for the reply.
  • Yes only any new instance deployed using Azure Marketplace 3CX image
  • From Scratch few times, Even used different keys for different setups
  • Different services. Most frequently MC.
  • If I get Server error at login, then i reboot the VM. If its other service, i login and start the service from management portal
  • Yes, Azure VM.
    • Tried from Scratch - same issue
    • Tried new Instance by restoring from backup - same results
  • This was going to be PoC for a client. i have 6 extensions. Only one connected
    • Instance types used
      • B1ms
      • B2ms
      • B2m
    • Event tried deploying to different Azure region, same results
Seems like new Auzre v18 Image issue.

Thank you

Deploying to GCP now. Just to complete PoC for the client.

Check if the old instances have swap and the new ones don't.

@altacom yes I can confirm that there are issues with swap file and waagent from Azure.
They want as mandatory setup to have waagent which does not create correctly the swap files.
We had a solution to apply this via cloudinit file but they declined our image for Marketplace because they want this
option to be available only via waagent ( which does not work ).
Due to this, there is no other way to set it up yourself, this is why I updated the Azure Marketplace guide.

https://www.3cx.com/docs/pbx-azure-marketplace/
After Step 11 check this :

Note: Due to a restriction of Azure on waagent and cloud-init on marketplace images, the swap file must be created manually after creation of the machine. SSH to your machine and proceed as explained here.
