Azure VM Sizing

There seems to be a pretty significant difference between system requirements for a VM vs a hosted VM. For example... 4GB on a Linux VM, but 16GB on an Azure VM.

Can anyone speak to the difference?

In your example, the difference is 12GB

In all seriousness though, it's a VM. Spin it up, and if there's an issue, upgrade it. If it's not breaking as sweat, downgrade. That's the beauty of using VMs.

Yes, 12GB = 4X increase. That's a major cost difference in Azure.

I know I can play around and figure out what works, but I'm not thrilled about experimenting at my customer's expense. That's the whole purpose of System Requirements.
