Im running a 3cx instance hosted by 3cx. Fresh install yesterday.

I am trying to get the backups to FTP to the pi that used to be its server. I can connect to it via filezilla with these settings, but 3cx cannot. The only instructions Ive seen are for receiving computers running windows. What could I be missing? Ive generated the key and converted into openssh and uploaded it per the 3cx instructions.

Have you tried and remove pi@, in the server address

Have you uploaded your ssh key ?

In order to narrow down where the problem might be, can you try setting it up as to allow sftp to the pi with just a password (without the private key) and then try again?

Im not sure I actually set it up to need one. How would I check?

If I'm not mistaken you will need to modify the SSH config on the SFTP Server but do look it up instead of taking my word for it.

Before you do that though, I'd actually recommend trying again by generating a new keypair using only the first command mentioned in our guide under "Creating OpenSSH Keys": https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/convert-open-ssh-key/

Note: If you generate the keys using the first command conversion mentioned in the second part of the guide should not be required.
