Nice, thanks for sharing.

Tested with failover?

This article needs to be amended as Google Drive has been noted to be depreciated in the future by 3CX Staff as it has become somewhat unreliable due to changes(rate limiting issues) on googles side.

This doesn’t rely on 3CX for that support. It’s independent and supports Google Drive out of the box as well as plenty of other cloud storage providers (S3, Wasabi, Backblaze, etc.)

So if I'm interpreting the issue with 3CX removing google drive due to issues, rate limiting etc on Google's side, I would assume using something like couchdrop connected to google drive would see the same issues 3CX is noting?

And so then do we blindly trust the following two things to be true?

  1. Couchdrop or their employees arent going to snoop on the data that crosses their servers to get to your endpoints.
  2. Is Couchdrop secure enough to be trusted as a custodian of that data in transit across their network. Because if they are translating between protocols, then they are decrypting the data on their side, and then re-encrypting it to go to the destination, likely similar to cloudflares SSL Technology.

For those without their own backup infrastructure and non-sensitive/confidential data im sure many blindly trust it. But for those with regulations and security compliance who handle sensitive, confidential or classified work, should they really trust this third party with their phone system configurations, and recordings?!?!?

I will leave the answer to the reader, because those who deal with these types of groups know the right answer here.
