Hi,

I waited a bit long to update my 3CX on premise, currently version 18.5,
My licence key expired, and i can no longer update or validate the renewal of my key.

Support told me to do a fresh v20 install and upload my backup, but the backup failed because it does not contain a system owner.
If i'm not mistaken System owners profiles were created in 18.8. I tried to make an extension with every rights on the console, but the same message displayed, no system owner.

Is there any solution other than doing a fresh install and doing reprovisioning everything? This represent days of work.

Thank you for your help.

The v18u9 is no longer disponible to modify system property of user in administrator.

Try to install an v18 and update to the latest release. Restore your backup and set the system owner. If this doesnt work, you need to start from scratch.

Thanks for the reply.
I tried that, but when I install v18 it says the repositories are no longer there and it doesn't work.

I used the classic ready iso debian-amd64-netinst-3cx.

I used this exact file, but 3cx doesn't install.
If I try to access https://xxx.xxx.xxx.x:5001, nothing happens.

The option asking you whether to configure 3cx in web mode or via command line doesn't even appear, it starts directly in Linux.

I just checked it myself, and it really doesn't seem to work anymore. Then you have no choice but to reinstall everything.

But it's not possible... I'm really getting fed up with 3CX, it keeps changing everything, it removes features that were used and now this too. I'm switching to UCM.

This is only your problem... you are really late to upgrade and didnt upgrade the v18 to the last update as well... Thats not the fault from 3cx.

v18 u5 is released 3 Years ago and since than no update.... sorry...

I understand, but it depends on the client, not me. I do the work when they want to pay for the licenses.
Also, if there's an ISO file still available for download from the site, why not let them use it to solve these problems?

The question is why you didnt do the updates on the old pbx since 3 years.. why the ISO install not working? Could be security reasons, debian 10 and v18 are EOL since a while.

Because the license had expired, the customer was not paying at that time and without an active license, updates were obviously not downloadable.

Than its the problem of your customer and not yours. If he wants to use 3cx he needs to pay for the licence. Now its to late to update and he needs to start from scratch.

Anyway, that's how it is. I'll get over it. Thank you for your support, you've been very kind.
