Hello Guys
I am working on a creating a new PBX (on Prem, a VM on Hyper V host) from a backup file "18GB Uncompressed".
downloaded linux ISO from portal and created new VM on hyperv , followed Web Wizard to setup PBX and selected option restore from back up.
pointed to backup file, it uploaded the file successfully and gone through next few steps like activating FQDN, linking pbx to user etc and so on, and then its hanging on "Creating PBX, Restoring backup"

its now been over 5 hours and its still saying same thing on there.
I don't want to refresh page or do anything with it to avoid any issues.

only thing I can see on my Hyper V side that VHD file for pbx VM is growing so seems like restore/pbx is writing something to disk to make it grow. disk currently at 60GB. not sure why its that much data.

PBX is 200 users and over 2million calls processed annually. not sure if its restoring all CDR/call history or whatever.

any other way to check progress of restore or any idea on how long it can take or at what stage I should start again.

Regards
Harry

Hello, with that size restoring the backup is going to take hours. It is restoring the full CDR

further update, after 7 hours, the restore is complete and all looks good.

for future, to reduce restore times to create new pbx (we wanted a clean pbx with just config of users/trunks etc to be kept ) , is it best to purge all call records before taking backup.

DAYYYUUUUMMMM, 7 hours!

Purging the call history is not possible for everyone though, as this is what is used to create the reports! Unless you have already exported the data to be used on a different platform.
