Hi all, trust all ready for Christmas.

Very quick question.

Can I ask if there is a compatibility matrix document/information for backups, i.e. which backup files work between versions.

I.e. for example can you restore a V16 backup to V18 without any issues.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

David.

There is no compatibility matrix

If you are running the latest version of V16, you can restore it to V18. you can only restore from the previous version to the latest version. You can not go backwards.

Backups are interchangeable between windows and debian versions

Excellent, thanks for confirming.

Just want to add that, you are planning on restoring a v16 backup to a v18 3CX PBX, we recommend that this is done during the installation process as opposed to restoring it while the PBX is already up and running.

Thanks Chris, that makes sense. We use Google Cloud so were planning on use your new BYOL template within the console so will restore as part of the setup

David.

Brilliant, that should be just fine. The new Customer portal deployment wizard actually also allows restoring a backup during installation so you have that option too.
