Hello,

I have quite a few clients asking about integration of MMS with Bandwidth. They're currently using SMS and are voicing frustration at not being able to attach a picture. Is this something that's on the horizon?

Thanks all!

Bandwidth appears to support MMS now. It's a separate slider option - as MMS is 3x your cost.

I just logged in, under the phone number it shows sms enabled, but I don't see a separate slider for MMS.

Does 3CX even support it? On the messaging dropdown it only shows "Bandwidth (SMS)"

MMS with Bandwidth is not supported in 3CX. This is due to some API crap on Bandwidth's side.

So while the provider supports it, 3CX doesn't.

Hi!

Just to clear things up as there is some misinformation going around regarding Bandwidth MMS support and 3CX.

3CX currently has MMS support with Flowroute, Telnyx and Twilio.
These 3 have similar implementation in their API on how the client receives the Media files of an MMS message.

Bandwidth has a slightly different implementation, so currently the 3CX Messaging Server is not in a position to support it. It's not "due to some API crap on Bandwidth's side", they just have a slightly different implementation which due to other priorities right now on the 3CX roadmap, we have pushed it back.

Adding support for MMS for Bandwidth is still on our to-do list, but currently we don't have an ETA as to when it will be implemented on our end. Preliminary tests have shown that it is possible to do, so when the time comes, we shouldn't have a problem it accomplishing it.

Thank you @NickD_3CX, I appreciate it. I have approx 15 customers on bandwidth using SMS and requesting MMS. If there's a way to request to push it up due to interest please let them know +15.

I assure you it is more users that 15, however this cannot be done right now.
Once this changes, we shall of course notify everyone on the forum in the "Product Releases & Information" section of the forum.

Thanks for the attention here! We look forward to mms with bandwidth as well!

Please bump priority to implement MMS with Bandwidth.

Since we're both 3CX Partner and SIP Trunk provider, we serve several hundreds of 3CX instances, and we have quite a few clients requesting this as well.

Kindly,

I would love MMS with Bandwidth!

+1...we have multiple clients asking for Bandwidth-3CX MMS support as well.

Yes, increased MMS carrier support needs to be very near the top of the priority list. IMHO, It's single-handedly causing more customer bleed to their competition than anything else.

I switched to bandwidth because they were on the API supported list for SMS and they were the only ones able to provide comparable rates to what I was getting before (From the 3CX supported list). I'm STILL migrating as we have time and I'm not switching again (new contract), and yes it has cost me some clients that went with Ring Central for MMS.

Yes I have everyone of my customer's requesting it and would love it ASAP. Thanks.

+1 to this. Every provider has some fatal flaw I'm running into, at least with 3cx.

+1 We have many customers requesting this feature.

SMS/MMS has been totally reworked and in update 5 which is just around the corner

Thanks Nick, does that mean with update 5 we will have MMS capabilities with Bandwidth as our provider?

@Nick Galea Thanks for all the work on making SMS easier to implement.

I have tested MMS with Bandwidth.com in u5 beta, and it's not passing photos yet. Not sure if this is expected to work yet. If it is, let me know and I will start a support case.
