Is there a good way to try out beta firmware on a device without 3cx reverting it back.
I have some Grandstream GXP2140 phones which are having an issue not answering calls (intermittently).
I want to load a beta firmware to one device and test but I have the issue of having to firstly manually update the device and secondly 3cx revert it back to the supported firmware.

If you have a spare hard drive, and it is easy to do a swap you might consider cloning the existing system onto it, ( I use the Macrium Reflect free version) then do the upgrade on that, leaving the original drive unaltered.

You miss understand me. I'm trying to update the firmware on the phone device, it doesn't have a harddrive.

Sorry, You'd have to change the firmware update location, on the set, to something invalid.

Just load the firmware manually on one or two phones to test

3cx does not automatically push out phone firmware,

What I found was this. To put the beta firmware on I had to remove phone provisioning from extension in 3cx.
Then Factory rest the device.
Then change the firmware location setting in device to firmware.grandstream.com/beta
Then run the firmware update.
Once complete manually add the extension information in the the device UI to do registration with 3cx.
After these steps the phone works but in 3cx console the device lists as having an unsupported firmware version and eventually the phone reverts to the supported firmware.
