Hi. I am looking for some assistance. I want to have a 3CX user transfer a call to an external number using blind call transfer. My expectation is that 3CX will release the agent from the call once the call is ringing to the internal party. The issue I am finding is that my platform is able to receive then present a second call back to the agent before 3CX releases the call.

Is there a way to force the agent phone/softphone to disconnect from the transferred call when 3CX receives the request to transfer the call?

At the moment we transfer the call externally and get put through to the agent's voicemail on the returned call leg.

The behavior might actually depend on what you're using.

• What version of 3CX are you running? Check under "Dashboard >> Information >> Version/License"
• What IP Phone/3CX app are you using? (brand/model)

18.0 Update 2 (Build 307)Version
We are testing with the webphone at the moment. The objective just to set the scene was to allow the agent to
1. answer a call.
2. transfer the call to an external number.
3. Be dropped from the call.
4. Receive a call back from the system the call was passed to.

Using the 3CX Apps to blind transfer, the call is only dropped automatically if the external callee answers the call. This is so that, if the callee rejects the call, the user who performed the blind transfer can retrieve the call back.

That said, the user performing the blind transfer has the option to just end the call manually after he/she has performed the blind transfer.

4. Receive a call back from the system the call was passed to.
This I feel I have not completely understood, could you elaborate an provide an example?

OK, strange to have a blind transfer that performs like an attended transfer. Blind means blind not waiting for the caller to answer and then decide to end the call or not. Anyway if it isn't going to work then we will move to a plan B.

Thanks for your quick response and assistance that is appreciated.

I wouldn't say they are the same as an attended transfer allows you to actually speak with the third entity where a blind transfer will not. The way we implement it in 3CX simply provides more options to the user.

Note: Do bear in mind that IP Phones behave differently so if the plan is to use IP Phones and you really need the call to end once the transfer is complete I suggest you test the ones you're planning on using to see how they behave.

You're very welcome!

Please feel free to start a new thread should you need anything else!
