Hello,

I need help how I can in 3cx block some internal call?

Scenario is:

General menager in company not wish to people from company can call directly him on extension? Only secretary ext can call general manager ext and secretary ext can transfer internal and exteranl call if some need general manager

How can resolve this?

Thanks

If you go into the extension, forwarding rules then exceptions:

The above example will disallow calls for extentions 201 through to 239. So just add in all the other extentions obviously excluding the secretary.

I would like to voice my support for the feature, as doing it with exceptions becomes cumbersome and almost umanageable fast.

I'm curious what your idea is for a user interface. Perhaps you want a whitelist in addition to the blacklist Rhys Haskell proposed?

For example, a checkbox that says block all internal extensions for this extension except the following? Then provide a list of allowed extensions?

In that case, do we also block callers that are entering the extension number at an IVR (Example: If you know your party's extension you can dial it at any time)?

It seems to me that this is going to require some ongoing effort to setup regardless of the user interface. But perhaps you have an idea for a user interface that is not obvious to me at the moment.

It is certainly possible to write a service that monitors all calls and drop any prohibited calls automatically. The question is whether we can drop the call fast enough to ensure the phone doesn't ring at least once.

I've been wondering if this feature could be added to the Group Rights. For example, an extra option for "Do not show presence to users outside of this group" and "Block calls from users outside of this group". As for allowing or disallowing direct calls to the extension, maybe block IVR redirection to the extension but allow DID calls? Otherwise, what is the purpose of even having a DID?
