Hello,

I've found today that our instance hosted on GCP, with a subdomain of 3cx.co.uk is being blocked by Norton Safe Web. This problem has happened before and I don't think it's only affecting our subdomain. I've reported it to Norton too.

It was resolved by 3CX/Norton some time ago (3CX were aware there was a problem) but same issue has returned.

Norton is a company that is sinking honestly, and they are fighting hard to stay relevant anymore, by buying out companies that actually know what their doing, and then claiming credit for the hard work done by other companies they have acquired. Whenever we find their software on a clients network we immediately remove it and install meaningful endpoint protection as 90% of what Norton does is piss off the user and tank their productivity due to slowing the computer to a crawl.

I no longer take much stock of what they say security/research wise unless its corroborated by others, ive seen on many occasions where they will block legitimate things/systems/api's simply because they don't understand them, not because they are doing something wrong.

They recently partnered/merged with lifelock, because both companies are hurting because contrary to the statements of both, people are getting a bit smarter, and every person does not need to have lifelock like they claim(some banks provide protection of their own). Norton even before covid was having a rough time and decided getting in bed with lifelock and offering lifelock free in exchange for buying Norton 360 would be a way for them to spike some growth and keep their ship afloat a bit longer. :Lifelock is also not doing super great, 8-9 months ago they closed an entire building near us and layed everyone off without much warning, i know this because they were selling all their crap on craigslist, trailer loads of cubicles all still badged with lifelock logos, and tons of computers with HDDs pulled, they gutted the place.
