Solved Blocking calls to 3CX app on an external network

Hello,
i have installed and provisioned some 3cx apps (Android and iOS) and even if i enable the "block remote tunnel connections" and the "Use 3CX Tunnel for remote connections" options i continue to recieve calls when not connected to the local LAN.
I have 2 self hosted 3CX instances, 1 on V16 and 1 on V18, and both have the same problem.

I have tried multiple combination of options but calls continue to arrive. On answering there is no communication because our firewall is not configured for external 3cx connections.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Hi @Paideia,

The reason the phone still rings is because the call is initiated using PUSH, this means that when you try to answer the call, since you blocked the Tunnel, it won't answer but it will still ring since you've most likely not disabled PUSH notifications.

Go into that extension's Forwarding Rules >> uncheck Accept Push Notifications and try again.

thank you for the info but disabling push notifications the app becomes useless. It doesn't ring even on the local network.

Is there a way to have the smartphone app ring when connected to the local network and disable it when disconnected.

No automatic way, you need to use one of statuses under forwarding rules.

when the end user is not connected to the local network, enduser needs to change the status of the phone. Make sure the one you select, you untick 'accept push notifications'

Hi @Paideia,

As @Saqqara mentioned, there isn't a setting that can do this. You can't have PUSH notifications off for external calls but on for internal calls I'm afraid.
