Hello 3CX world,

I have a 3CX hosted on AWS and today I am having issues with provisioning.

I setup the phone as stated in all 3CX manuals and when the phone finishes flashing 'Provisioning Successful' it will reboot after 10 seconds and come up and reboot and come up and reboot.

The only way I know of to stop the boot loop is by downgrading the phone to a 5.9.x.x firmware the provisioning from 6.3.0.x but that's not a solution. This all started after I did a firmware update after successful provisioning as stated on the webpage of the server.

I was checking phone logs and I always see something along the lines of phone "DA set to cold reboot" or something and the phone does seems to be cold rebooting.

Any ideas?

  • 3CX Version, Standard Annual 16.0.6.655
  • Server OS, Debian 4.9.228-1
  • Is the 3CX Server Hosted and where? Yes on AWS.
  • IP Phone Make/Model/Firmware, Polycom VVX 311, 6.3.0.14929
  • Provisioning Method: Local / VPN / STUN / SBC - STUN
  • Trunk Provider or Gateway Make/Model - CallCentric
  • Has the Firewall Checker passed: Yes
  • Are custom Phone Templates being used: No, I am using polycomvvx_gen2.ph.xml
Phone is currently in a "Phone Restarting" boot loop.

Things I have tried: Turned off PoE on the switch, Reset and Reprovision the Phone, Change the default port from 5065 to 5060 before provisioning, changing it back to default 5065. I suspect it is my works firewall though, as I took the phone home and it did not boot loop over STUN method.

Also, I tried following the Sonicwall guide on this, but that's if I was hosting in-house, would you happen to know any other things to look out for when using a Sonicwall firewall?

Okay! The boot loop is resolved. NAT policy on my VLAN was created wrong. Thank you 3CX for such a sexy system.

Hi technet

Most likely about the firewall, I would agree with you. I tested the same model on 6.3.0.14929 using an AWS PBX of the same version, and it does not boot loop. Provisioning succeeded and phone came up.
