Bridging set up

Good Morning

I thought i'd have a play with bridging since I've never really touched on it and I have a few questions.

1. Why would/wouldnt I use the tunnel feature when bridging? Was this to get around firewall uses like the SBC?

2. Can I set up just 1 MASTER and have xxx SLAVES connect to it?

What I'm aiming to do, is to have ext 000 on all slave PBX show as "available" and call through to our master IVR. However, I cant find a way to have my ext 000 on the slave show as available without registering a dummy phone at the master site. is this the only way I'm going to achieve this? I wonder what other MSP have done.

Using the tunnel, it will indeed negate the need for firewall configuration on the Slave PBX but will also add an extra layer of security since the traffic will be encapsulated.

You can have one MASTER PBX but the connections must be one to one. So if you have one master 3CX PBX and two slaves, you will need two master Bridge entries on the Master 3CX PBX and one slave entry on each Slave 3CX PBX.

Regarding the behavior you are looking for, I'm not 100% sure I completely understood but If what you want is for every slave PBX extension to be able to call their local 000 extension and then have the call forward to the Master's IVR, you could enable "Ring my mobile simultaneously" on extensions 000 of the slave pbx's and have the mobile number set as the master's IVR number (including the bridge prefix). Let me know how it goes or if I have misunderstood the situation.

Maybe for troubleshooting purposes to see clearly in Wireshark, or if you want to use the Master Bridge to connect with some 3rd-party system (just saying...), but other than that, no idea... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There have been a lot of requests over the years, on the forum, on how to bridge 3CX to another make of PBX, so I'm going to assume that would be the primary reason for not using the Tunnel feature.
