Hello all,

I am trying to gauge the situation with a device and the issue of it not broadcasting to the 3cx console.
It is an unsupported speaker horn device that a client has asked us to see if we can get it working anyway. It is a TOA IP HORN SPEAKER IP-A1SC15 and it will connect via an remote SBC which is configured currently and routing a dozen or so devices. The Horn is plugged in/powered and I can access the web interface.

The question I have at the moment is, should the speaker be broadcasting to the console and showing up in the phones section?
I understand that to make it function a custom template will need to be used, but to get it to simply show in the phones section of the console I have plugged in/powered it and added a user in the console and under Phone provisioning used a SNOM profile with the devices MAC address.
It was my understanding that I should at least be able to see it broadcasting.
If anyone has any advice it would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Best,
Brent

Hi Brent,

What do you mean by broadcasting?

Yes, the PNP request if broadcasted correctly to SIP multicast address should be transferred by SBC to PBX.
So either the request doesn't reach the SBC or it contains something which prevents its parsing at PBX.

@ivank Thank you! I think then the issue is that it is not reaching the SBC.

I am new to 3cx and I appreciate your time, do you have another moment?

I see no GUI for the SBC, is there a connectivity test that can be performed from the SBC? I installed the 3cx windows app and ran *777 tests but I think that app may be outdated. That or I wasn't using it correctly.
Thank you Ivank
Best,
Brent

**Also I am now seeing a banner at the top of the screen saying that 3cx does not provide troubleshooting for unsupported phones.
While I know this, I kinda thought that this was a forum where all 3cx users would post/chat/discuss, not necessarily 3cx Technical Personnel. I am not wanting to make a service call per se, I was just looking for what I am sure are the many other who have tried something similar. Apologies if this Forum is for legitimate service only.

You can see the SBC connection status in the ManagementConsole ("SIP Trunks" page) or in DesktopApp ("Admin"/"Voice & Chat"). To quickly check on site you can call Echo service from the phone registered behind SBC just like you've mentioned.

@ivank Thank you, I was meaning connectivity test from the SBC itself to the horn. The SBC is working fine in the Management Console, currently routing about a dozen phones through it so I am assuming the breakdown is before the SBC.
That being the case I was wondering if the SBC had some form of probe rather than just listen function, it clearly doesn't, I just thought maybe I was missing something.
Thanks for your time Ivank.
Best,
Brent
