Hi Guys

First time posting here,
I have installed a hosted 3cx system via 3cx this is a demo system, we hope to start selling to customers however i'm having an issue where my BT Wholesale SIP trunk disconnects, the only for me to reconnect is to refresh a new password via the BT Wholesale(Daisy) portal and then input it into the system,
I am increbilty new to 3cx however have around 10 yeaea PBX experience however I am a bit stuck here!
Is there anyone else who has came across anything similar? the issue could be my SIP provider but I know they will blame the PBX
Firewall checker seems to be passing also

Thanks

Calum

To your problem, this sounds like a connectivity issue to me.

options that do not involve fixing the current issue:
Test another voip provider, test another isp, is your ip address static. let a router do the auth for your sip like a "edgewater", test the stability of your internet connection.

options that do involve the current issue:
Power cycle the 3cx computer before doing anything with the Daisy portal, power cycle the router, unplug the ethernet cable and plug it back in. (before doing anything with the portal).

tests:
can we duplicate the issue, make a working condition a none working condition.

Best of luck.

HI,
Which sip port are the extensions currently using?
Which sip port does the provider trunk currently use?
Typically such problems are solved by using a port other than 5060 (eg 5065) for extensions. You can read the following post (in Italian). It refers to the same problem you have with an Italian provider.

Unfortunately this requires re-installing 3CX Phone System.

HI Guys

The system is hosted via 3cx so I do not think it's a connectivity issue, error I appear to be getting is a 403 forbidden.
I have checked all documentation and can confirm it runs on 5060 so I am correct there, they work fine when they register it's just when it deregisters I have to go into the BT Wholesale (Daisy) portal, refresh the password and then reenter it and it comes up straight away.
I have took the domain name out and replaced it with the straight IP for the proxy, don't think that will solve it however.
Any one who has had luck with BT Wholesale / Daisy trunks help would be appreciated!

Hi Calum,

Click the button to disable all trunks, then open a 2nd tab and click Activity Log > Capture.

While your capture is running, go back to the first tab and click enable trunks.

The trunk will fail to connect naturally, but you can go back to the 2nd tab to stop and download the capture.

Opening this capture in wireshark should reveal something about why the trunk fails to connect.

See if the provider is rejecting the registration for some reason.

PS: We have guides for BT and BT wholesale, I hope you followed the guide correctly while setting up your trunk

Hi John
Thanks for the tip, it turns out our supplier DWS (Daisy) had been locking the trunk as there was multiple attempts from different IP's (Our demo avaya and another system) - silly fault on my end, seems to be working well now

No worries Calum, glad to hear it was resolved :)
