Hi All,

We've found a bug in the web client. Go and call someone, then hit conference, add another person, then add another via the conference button. When you get to the fourth person you will hear feedback and you will see your conference extension (700 or 7000) calling itself in the admin console. The 700 to 700 call will remain active till it is cancelled out from the admin console. Also the next person to join a conference form the web client hears the feedback/static/noise till you cancel the 7000 to 7000 call.

We have gotten complaints from 4 of our clients already and we have seen it internally. 3CX support says this is by design

to reproduce:
Place a call
add someone via the conference button
add another person via the conference button
add another person via the conference button

you will see all 4 people in the conference AND 7000 will be on with 7000 causing a feedback loop.

till you cancel that call you will not be able to add anyone to a conference via the web client.

This is becoming a real problem for our clients. They don't understand why they are getting "static" when they try to add more than a few people to a conference. Not to mention that once they have tried this the problem stays for all future conference calls until us as the admin logs in and kills the call.

I encountered this few days ago, the feedback loop was severe enough that I threw my headset on the floor. Ironically, this happened during 3CX demo call with a prospect client (I work for a 3CX reseller), suffice to say the demo was a bit of a flap.

I do quite a number of 3CX calls, and often with 5 or more people. This is a new problem, I have not experienced this with older builds.

just tested a Standard 16.0.2.910 box and you get an error of "max 3 people reached". We are still having the issue and just heard from another client regarding the feedback.

What OS and version? Is this update 6, or older?

all Linux 16.0.641 Enterprise. We did test with roll-up 2 and it was the same

Hi all,

Establish a call to person1 then hit conference and add person2.

To add more, do not press the conference button again. Do the following instead

1. Go to Schedule Conference
2. Click the Active Conference
3. Add the rest of your participants from here

I understand how you would like everyone to add callers, but this is about the bug that allows callers to continue to add people in the "improper" way, then get feedback and are unable to use the conference bridge after that before killing the call in the admin console.

Thanks for reporting, we will review the way the conference happens and see if we can improve the behavior.

Hi,

just got another client complaint and threat to move to a new system over this. Was hoping this bug was fixed in version 6a.

I'm running into this same issue as well. Was going crazy trying to figure out what was happening so I'm glad I found this.

Yep. No luck with an update yet. We are still getting client complaints.

Hi All,

We had the same problem with customers complaining about the static noise when adding more people to their conference calls. We replicated the problem and found this only to be happening on the 3cx chrome extension plugin from the webclient. When we removed the plugin and tested just via the webclient or softphone itself, then there is no problems.

We have logged this with 3cx as well, and the feedback was that R&D indicated that the issue has been addressed and a fix will be included in the next browser extension release.

Hope this helps.
