Hi All,

Fairly new to 3CX and need some advice please. I've setup the conference extension and DID but it seems that only one external caller can get through and any external calls after that get a busy tone. I have 8 SIM calls with no one using any while I'm testing.

Can someone shed some light on what I'm doing wrong?

Can you receive more than one simultaneous call on your SIP trunk? Make sure the max inbound calls is set to at least 8.

Hi Matthew,

I have the 8 SIM calls set in the trunk. How can I verify that inbound calls can max out to 8 please?

thanks

Some SIP providers require a trunk for inbound, and another for outbound. The setting is the same for both under Trunk Details --> Number of SIM Calls. Sounds like you have already set that correctly. Can you make more than one simultaneous inbound call to extensions other than the conference extension (user extension for example)?

Just confirmed by calling from 3 different external lines simultaneously that I can receive more than one call.

I should mention the 3 calls were to the main line though, 3 simultaneous calls to the external conference number still no good. The first call connects fine and then any other call after that gets the busy tone... I'm stumped

So I just tested this and it works fine. What do your logs show? Do they show the 2nd call hitting 3CX? Would help narrow down where the problem is.

Hello @smeego78

Set the conference DID to a different destination like an extension with the option "Accept multiple calls" enabled and then try the same test. Does the second call come in?

Sorry for the reply as I've been away. The second number doesn't show up but there are 2 instances of the first (successful) number.

ie. I have 2 external numbers dialing into external conference number

12345678 - first number that can get through fine
87654321 - second one gets busy tone

Call Log snippet/

the second number doesn't show up.

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply as I've been away. I've tried with a different destination w/ Accept multiple calls and it still gets the busy tone.

Could it be on the SBC side?

You need to determine, if the busy signal is being sent from your provider, to the caller, why. Does the call reach 3CX, then a (reject) message is send back to the provider, and that causes them to send the busy signal? Or, does the provider not even attempt to put the call through because of some condition (too many calls?). If you use the 3CX Activity Log, and don't see an incoming call attempt, contact your provider for assistance.

I agree with @leejor on this as it looks like that the second call is not reaching your system. Search the Activity log for the second call. If no logs are present then contact your provider with this information.
