.... the email server that's sending these invites, is it capable of passing on / using these email addresses even though it's not the authentication email address ? I believe it should be using the users email address ...
Edit: Just tested. The email was from our system's "donotreply@" email address, but the reply-to was set to my email address. (and it really looked like it was from me, I only see the "donotreply" email by looking at the headers.
Our email server is Microsoft Exchange. How would we set it to have the reply-to address be the user's email address? We were told by 3CX Support that "there is no way around the fact that the email will be dispatched by the account configured in the 3CX Management Console". Dispatching it is one thing, but if we can get it setup like yours so that the reply-to address is the user, that would be ideal. Right now, any replies are sent to the donotreply email address.
Hello there,
Just tested now and i can confirm what JasonNadeau is saying. The reply-to address is the email address of the extension creating the conference. Tested with gmail and hotmail (live) smtp servers both have the same behaviour
Well, I'm glad that works for some, but without knowing how to configure it on the Exchange server, that doesn't work for us. We can configure the reply-to so it goes to one specific user, but that won't resolve our issue. We need the replies to go to whatever user setup the conference call.
I guess what I'm saying is that this is an issue with your email server, not 3cx. At this point it would make more sense to be asking on a Microsoft Exchange forum since that's where your issue is. 3cx does what you're asking for out of the box, your exchange server isn't passing on the info.
