Hi,

In the 'old' ISDN days we had a feature that allowed a ringing call to be 'deflected' to another number. The advantage of this was that the original called ID remained visible and no channel was used for the call in stead of 2 channels if I forward _through_ my 3CX.

I still remember seeing in the logs also the billing information once the original caller hung up.

Is something similar feasible with SIP / 3CX ? I know that I can forward over the 3CX w/o any problem, and I even can keep the original caller ID by the grace of my permissive SIP Trunk provider but this costs me two channels on my 3CX for the duration of the call.

Hello @wmeter

Have you tried using 302 Deflection? You can enable it under the extensions forwarding rules by setting the status to Away and Forward the calls to your mobile or an external number. Your provider will have to support 302 however in order for this to work.
