Hello everyone,

We have the following situation with a new customer.

3CX V20 private hosting
16-Pro Edition (upgrade to ENT is possible)
3CX Windows softphone users
Yealink W90 DECT system with Yealink W59R Pro handsets

There are a few employees in the company who only carry and use the W59. They’d like to be able to easily forward calls to their alternate using a forwarding feature on the handset, e.g., by dialing *21 destination number #.

According to my information, this isn’t supported as described, but the option is available in the handset’s menu.

The only option I’m aware of is changing the presence status using *3x.
But that’s not flexible enough.

Does anyone know of a way to use call forwarding directly on the handset after all?
Thank you very much

@reamen you may do this with Dial Codes and change the extension profile.
In the Forwarding rules then send the call wherever you want.
Check here :

Change Profile Status

You can change your status by using the dial code in the following manner: *3[0-4].

  • 0 is "Available"
  • 1 is "Away"
  • 2 is "Do not Disturb"
  • 3 is "Custom 1"
  • 4 is "Custom 2".
For example, dialing *31 from extension 100, will change the profile status of extension 100 to Away.

Hi Nikos,
Yes, that's right, and I'm familiar with that as well.
I also mentioned that this option isn't flexible enough. Users don't have a PC, so they can “only” choose between the four statuses. However, they need to be able to dynamically forward calls to any phone number without having to make adjustments in their profile first (which is impossible without a PC).
Is there a way to do that?

@reamen its not impossible to do this without a PC, 3CX clients on mobiles can be setup
which is free and also the statuses or the changes on the forwarding rules can be adjusted form there as well.
There are 5 statuses so 5 different routes can be setup.
If you exclude the Available, then its 4.
How often they have to change the 4 routings ? :)

Yes, it’s true that these features are available via the mobile app.

But that’s not what the employees on the production floor need. They don’t have a smartphone with them on the production floor and don’t want to install an app on their personal devices either. On top of that, these status settings aren’t visible on the device.

But if the W59R supported the call forwarding feature in any way, that would be great.
That way, it would also be clear that a call is being forwarded.

However, 3CX ignores this call forwarding—correctly, but it’s a real shame.

@reamen I can understand this but for your information, on the 3cx clients on the mobile apps,
the Forwarding Rules can be adjusted from the Presence button on the top right side of the app.
Unless if they are disabled on the extension level by the admin.
