Hi,

The call forwarding on our Yealink T46 phones isn’t working anymore.
I go to Menu > Features > 1. Call Forward > 1. Always Forward > 1. Always Forward : Enabled > 2. Forward to: [enter number] > Save
3CX version: 16.0.2.910 , Yealink phone firmware: latest supported
The option gets enabled but the phone rings and doesn’t forward the call.
This is officially supported phone so please fix this functionality

Please use the WebClient. This form of forwarding might seem to be convenient but causes many times issues. One is that customers build loops. Simple example

Queue -> Agent -> Frwd from Phone to Queue

good luck picking up the call for every agent.

(or use profiles you can switch from the device)

I'm not sure why 3CX is concerned what happens in the customer's local network. It's like CISCO would tell me "oh, we separated our ports on the switch by 2 miles so you don't create accidental patch loops"
The call forward option is on the phone and it doesn't work. Fix it or remove it if it's no longer supported and end the confusion.
Browsing the forum, I can see this issue dates back to 2017. Nice.

Oh BTW, good luck teaching some users how to use web client
Have a good weekend :)

You are right Kristof, this doesn't work anymore on yealink since V15, the explanaition given from 3CX support was:

Hello, In fact call forwarding is deliberately disabled by template because the feature relies on SIP redirects 302 and is not supported. It is preferred to reroute upstream in the call flow by the extension transfer rules, to avoid various problems. So basically it will provide for status change buttons on the phone, and preconfigure the different referral either in the admin console or at the client / webclient user.

This was already explained by @StefanW. Forwarding on the phone manipulates phone calls outside of 3CX, and then 3CX is blamed. So it's not about your 'network' but about ensuring that the 3CX out of the box experience is as smooth as possible. It also removes visibility of that call forwarding without digging in the logs. Using the 3CX supported method of forwarding is agnostic to the phone model and just works, even if the phone is unplugged.

If you don't like it, make a custom template.

On land line we used to dial ( * 21 * ) followed by destination number and finish by # to activate unconditional transfert. To remove it just dial #21# hang up

If same was available on PBX should be very easy and quickly managed
