Call forwarding rules in ring groups

I still believe the problem lies with your outbound rules - for example, if you do not have an outbound rule with the "from extensions"as blank then you won't be able to directly forward calls out as the rule won't match.

How I have gotten around this in the past is to create a specific rule with a differeent prefix and no restriction on which extension can call out.

ie:

Let's use '5' as the outbound prefix in this instance.
You setup an outbound call rule to match the prefix of 5 whilst stripping it off when sending it out through a trunk. Leave the from extensions field blank in this instance.
For your call forwarding in your ring group, put the 5 in front of your external number, then give it a try.

I have found that when you specifically define which extensions are allowed to dial out this does remove a little bit of flexibility on setting up call forwarding to external numbers - let me know how you go.

Thats awesome, worked a treat :) a little awkward but at least I know now for the future

Many Thanks
