I have a call group setup that when an inbound call comes into the PBX that it rings on several windows softphones and several iPhones.. The issue that I am having is not all phones ring at at the same time (they are all on the same LAN) and on the iPhones as soon as you answer the call, there appears to be about a 5 second delay to when the caller is connected. Is there any tuning or tweaking that can be done to minimize the delay?

Hello @stang9550

Please note that the time it takes to ring devices that are registered and devices that rely on push is different. On registered devices (windows softphones) the call is sent directly to the client where on clients that rely on Push a push request must first be sent to wake the phone, the phone must wake and then it will start ringing.

Is there any tweaks that can be done to reduce that time? Its a pretty big delay, some times ago as 5 -10 seconds. Thanks!

There is nothing you can do from the server side, as this mainly depends on the network speed you are on, on the time the Push request takes to reach your device and the time your device needs to pick up.

I have another call group question. Here's the situation..... A new call comes in, and someone in the call group answers, now another call comes in, the person who answered the original call on there phone (windows softphone) doesn't see line 2 ringing. Is there anyway to fix that? Thanks!!

@leejor
The extension that has answered the call is part of the ring group. If that is not the how its supposed to work, what is the proper way to be on a call (all extensions are part of a ring group) and when another call comes in to have it ring also on that extension. In other words the person in the ring group that grabbed the call to be able to be put caller 1 on hold and pick up the call for the 2nd caller? Thanks!!!

This assuming there is a second line key appearance on the set, if not, then even if a call is put on system hold when a second call comes in, the extension will not start to ring if it was in use when the call was first presented to the ring group. Status is not "re-polled".
If you have a second line key, you could make have it as a second (dofferent extenson number), but a member of the same ring group. Both keys would always ring on an incoming RG call. the second line would ring if the first was in use allowing the person to put the call on hold if they wished to take the second line key.

If the second line key was assigned as the same extension number as the first key, the you have to do two things. Allow the extension accept more than one call, in the extension settings, and, change the ALLOWUSEBUSYOPTFORGROUP setting. That is the setting that 3CX warns may cause unintended consequences.
