Dear Sirs,

I cannot find documentation on how to perform the action mentioned in the post title.

My need is to integrate the CRM software I've developed in php and that it is working on an intranet. The will for the customer is to start and stopa call session from the browser, for timing purposes on the call center operator activities. The "start call" option, is already performed via a link of the tipe "tel:..." but I cannot understand how to manage a second button to hang up the current operator call when pressed. I'd like to know how to initialize and conclude the call via an API.

The call are actually made by using the software 3CX client, which is installed on each operator PC.

Thank you so much for pointing me to the right direction!

Stay safe!

The only way to programmatically drop the call (that I can think of) is using the 3CX Call Control API. Doing this from a PHP program running on a separate server will not be able to use the API because it only listens to requests from "localhost".

3CX has announced a new REST API that should be available later this year. What specific API methods will be provided has not been announced, but I am hopeful that call control will be included.

The only other option is to take a look at our VoIPTools REST API which does support all the call control methods -- MakeCall, MakeCallPlayFile, Drop, transfer, listen, barge, etc.

Thank you so much for your fast and detailed reply!

Is there some documentation available to developers for both the already available solution proposed?

Thank you again for your kind availability!

Presumably, in preparation for the release of the new 3CX REST API, the documentation for the 3CX Call Control API has been withdrawn by 3CX.

3CX has not released any information about the upcoming 3CX REST API.

The VoIPTools REST API has web-based Swagger documentation built into our VoIPTools Relay

Thank you so much for your super fast reply!

It happens we already have VoIPTools installed on the server, I've reached the page listing all the API, but I tseems we need a call ID to terminate the call. Since the call is made by a "tel:..." link on the "<a>" tag of the web page, we don't have that information. Maybe can we use an API call to start and terminate the call or to retrieve the id of the call made by the specific operator.

I've found:

GET
/api/MakeCall/{json}
Make a new call

and

GET
/api/DropCall/{json}
Drop a Call by passing CallId and Extension

I think I should call something after the first or before the second API call, to get the callID, since it seems that the return value of the first API call it's just a boolean value...

Can you kindly help me by suggesting the right sequence to use to make the call and get all parameters needed to terminate the call?

Thank you so much!

Take a look at ActiveConnections. You can ask for a list of active calls for the specified extension to get the Call ID. We provide full developer support. Send an email to [email protected]

Thank you so much for your kind and fast replies!!

I'll surely follow your suggestions, by contacting the dev support.
