call hold music

Hi,

When using the click to call option from 3cx phone the hold music is played until the party picks up which is kind of confusing. is there anyway to just make it so that it starts ringing and no hold music is played.

Is your 3CXPhone in CTI mode?
If so, is it paired to a local or remote phone and of which model?

The phone doesn't seem to matter, and its in CTI mode. We have both polycom 335s and yealink t46gs

In that case, the behaviour you described would mean CTI is running in MakeCall mode, which applies in case of a 3CXPhone paired with legacy phones listed on http://www.3cx.com/support/ such as the Polycom mentioned, or when the phone is remote or not provisioned.
The MakeCall consists in instructing PBX to make a call to A, and another call to B, once both answered connect them together, in the meantime music on hold is played.
While I just did a CTI call with a recommended phone on a local extension here, the click to call feature dialed directly the number specified without any music on hold. That is because the CTI worked then in a different manner, where the 3CXPhone sends requests directly to the phone.
