Hi 3CX Team,
I manage a 3CX v20 system for a busy animal clinic with a high volume of daily calls. Call recordings are essential to their operations, and earlier this year, they exceeded their 15GB quota.
To address it, we reduced the temporary recording retention period to 100 days, but the storage still climbed beyond 17GB last month. The business then made the decision to upgrade to the 30GB plan. However, we've now received another warning that storage is at 85% capacity—so it seems we’re heading toward the same problem again, even with the upgrade.
I previously contacted support regarding compression or alternate recording formats, but I was told the system doesn't allow changes in how recordings are stored.
At this point, I'm trying to find out what other options or best practices are available within the 3CX platform to keep recordings manageable long-term without running into these repeated quota issues. Ideally, we're looking for solutions that don’t require additional infrastructure or costs, especially since the customer already committed to the upgrade.
Would love to hear how others in high-call environments are handling this, or if 3CX has any future plans for smarter recording management.
Thanks in advance for any insight!
