I've installed and configured correctly the Skype Gateway and in inbound works great. Now I try to generate a call to a skype user without a number, only to the skype account but I can't use my desk phone (doesn't accept letter) Myphone directly (doesn't accept letter too) Myphone Outlook integration (strip letter so PBX replace the call with UNK as bolded in the log below).

The only way to make a call to a skype user is via Web API http://<pbx>:5000/ivr/PbxAPI.aspx?func=make_call&from=<ext>&to=<dest>&pin=<pin_ext>

How can I instruct a smart user to generate a call to a Skype user from his extension without use "difficult" function like an URL via browser?

This has been dealt with in the past, if you do a search of the forum.

You will have to create some outbound rules, one per Skype name. As long as there is no conflict with other outbound rules (or other numbers on the PBX), you can use just about anything.

Example... dial 123, strip off 3 digits, prepend johndoe, send out on Skype trunk

This is a nightmare... I prefer to use the 3CX SoftPhone with a generic outbound rule for skype.

What I doesn't understand is why on 3CX Myphone aren't accepted the letter that is the more simple thing to do.

Possibly, because the 3CX Skype Gateway is no longer "officially" supported.

Just create an Outbound Rule named “Skype”
Setup the prefix like a,b,c,d,e, till z
Route it to your Skype Gateway, Strip Digits “0”, nothing to Prepend

Then use 3CX MyPhone to dial another Skype user by typing “skype:username” in the number area. (without “”)

If you want to know more, please search the forum. ;)

perfetct, what I need. Thank you very much

The problem was thet my research on forum (via search on site) dousn.t return to me any reult, probably because I'm not a good "searcher"
