Hi,

I am encountering a Caller ID issue when call is transferred to an External number.

Scenario

a. The outbound caller ID is set for the Extension
b. Incoming call is answered by the Extension
c. The Extension transferred the call to an External number
d. On the phone for the External number, caller ID is displayed as the SIP Trunk number

The expected result is that the Caller ID displayed on the phone should be the Outbound Caller ID of the Extension.

May i know how i can configure to display the Outbound Caller ID of the Extension when call Transfer

Thanks.

Hi @Kwang Mien,

Do you get the same behaviour from both Attended and Blind transfers?

The Caller ID issue happen for Blind Transfer. Caller ID is the SIP Trunk number. Any way to resolve this issue ?
Hi @Kwang Mien,

Hi @Kwang Mien,

This is intended behaviour for the blind transfers. I'm afraid that this is how the system sends information.

In the past, I've seen the trunk number used for caller ID only when there is no other number available. As I recall, there have been a few posts about the different caller ID sent when attempting a blind, and attended transfer, but, it is because either the main number is sent, or the originators, never the trunk number. And it does seem to be different for each transfer type. The behavior can also be affected by the caller ID related, outbound trunk settings/options. These settings will determine from where caller ID is taken.

Is the original callers CID showing on the extension first answering the call?

I'm a bit surprised that the transferred call reaches it's destination, as many providers (will vary by country), are now blocking any call with caller ID that does not conform to certain standards. (Doesn't appear to be a real/valid number)

Does the extension doing the transfer, have their full PSTN number (DID) in the outbound caller ID field?
