Hello All,

Hope to get some help with this issue I am facing with caller id. I have 3cx V15.5 installed and working well with two trunks. I do not have any issues with internal calls between extensions since the id displays correctly. My SIP trunk provider ID also displays correctly through 3CX. I however have a Patton SN4114 which is connected to a PSTN line(trunk). I can receive and place calls but the caller id is anonymous. I tried changing some outgoing parameters for the SIP header as From : Display Name and From : User Part with values OriginatorCallerID. Anyone else resolved similar issue.

Hello @Corwayne

You mean the caller id of an incoming call is shown as anonymous? Or your caller id when making calls shows anonymous to the callee?
You may need a capture of a call to see how the PBX is receiving or sending the caller id

Hello Mario,
I mean both incoming and outgoing calls.

I would first check with the telco provider how they are dealing with caller id. Sometimes this is a subscription service and needs to be enabled from their end. You can also check in the activity log to see if the number is shown during for example an incoming call. A wireshark capture on the PBX machine will also show this.

Hi Mario, would you like to see a wireshark capture?

Yes sure, send me a PM with the capture to have a look. You need to run the capture on the PBX machine. Also, if this is a busy PBX and a capture will contain a lot of calls, please let me know of the numbers involved in the call with the issue.

Hello Mario, how do I send the capture data in conversation. I have the saved capture file locally

Hi @Corwayne just upload the file to a file sharing service and send me the download link in a PM

Are the Caller ID settings on the gateway correct? Have you confirmed, using a stand alone caller ID device, that the feature is assigned to the phone lines? If you are using Bellcore type CID, is the gateway waiting until the CID data is received (between the first and second ring) before passing the call onto 3CX?

You will have no control over outbound caller ID on PSTN trunks, no matter what options you set in 3CX. It is set by your provider, all you can do is to block it by prefixing the number with a vertical services code.

Thank you leejor. I will contact the provider and ensure caller ID is provided on the lines.
