Solved Calls prefixed with + symbol not working

We are based in the UK and can dial out successfully to UK number using the full international format of 0044 [localnumber]

However, if a user dials +44 [localnumber], then the call fails with the activity log showing...

11/07/2019 1:14:10 PM - [Flow] Target endpoint for 44xxxxxxxxxx can not be built!

The E164 Processing Settings are set to UK country code, remove if same country, and add prefix 0.



This problem has arisen because a new salesman has all his contacts telephone numbers stored in E164 format. Before his arrival, no one tried to dial out using +[countrycode]
Got to love the sales team!

I have read many of the articles on this, but my configuration experiments have made no difference. Do outbound rules become effective immediately they are saved?

Hi.
You can add an Outbound Rule: Call to numbers starting with 44 (11 or 12 in Length) strip 2 Digts and Prepend an 0 (Think you use a 0 over there)

You do not have an outbound rule that the system can process numbers starting with 44.

Create a new outbound rule checking for prefix 44 strip 2 digits and prepend 0

Note : rules are processed from the top down , so get them in the correct order.

Put a 0 where it says "national" and you'll be fine

i've got rules that say UK Local 6 digits prepend area code

UK mobile 11 digits. But, i guess it depends who your provider is as I send mobiles via a US trunk so i'm doing some other stuff in my rules.

Thanks Jed. You are right, although calls are dialled successfully already if they are prefixed with the UK code, for example 0044 [localnumber].
So we have no need for another oubound rule just to replace the 44 with 0.

My problem is specifically with the + symbol.
If we dial a number prefixed with + then the calls fails with error given above.

I have created an outbound rule which strips the + symbol and replaces it with 00. But it doesn't seem to work.

go to account settings and then advanced.
check this setting on the app at the bottom for replacing + with 00:
