We are running 16.0.5.612.
Our network is segmented as follows
The phone server and MOST of the physical phones live in the Phone Network. However for ALL the 3CX apps on cell phones those cell phones live in the Guest Wireless. The issue we are seeing is one way audio with these devices. I have just been having some additional talks with a few more users while trying to make this post and it seems that with the 3CX app one way audio can be an issue regardless. I got some clarification and it seems to be one way audio between extensions not outside lines. My CTO seems to have an issue where if someone calls him and he answers on the app its one way audio. But he can immediately call that person back and it works. One thing I did discover is that the app in/out office detection does not seem to be great. So all of our 3CX applications were actually hitting the outside of our firewall even if they were internal. I went ahead and added our full 3cx.us address as a stub to our internal DNS and pointed it directly at our phone server so that our devices (when internal) are not trying to go out to the external IP of our firewall for any reason. This issue also seems to be fairly new to either coincide with an update to 3CX or when I put that Layer 3 Switch in place. The layer 3 switch is strictly routing between the different VLANs where applicable. There are some access control lists in place but I have opened those up some to ensure that they dont even enter into the phone situation. I realize this might be a little bit convoluted but I am getting badgered on this pretty intensely so I hope it rings a bell for someone out there.
