After upgrading 3CX to v18, ALL of the 20 extensions end in fast busy tone instead of forwarding to voicemail.

no modification have been done to the PBX for months prior to upgrading. Now I have a crippled PBX, and won't buy support for a bug out of our control.

Have you updated the system prompts yet? I know some features would play file not found due to prompts needing updated.

If prompts don't work you may want to enable verbose logging and see what it shows when you call and get the fast busy.

Under what circumstances does this happen?
When calling into your system from an external number?
Does it also happen when an Extension calls another Extension?

You can switch on Verbose logging from Dashboard --> Activity Log --> Settings, then make another call, then check the Activity Log for clues.

when making internal calls or transferring external calls by the receptionist to voicemail

Hi, all updates are done. I have no updates pending.

Let's take the simplest scenario:
Extension calling another Extension.

What Forwarding Rules have you set that will make the call go to VMail?
Ring 20 seconds, then VMail?
Not Registered --> VMail?
"Away" Status --> Not Registered?

Also 2 more things:
- If you dial the VMail number (usually 999), do you hear something?
- Does this happen only when calling a specific extension, or it happens to any extension that forwards to VMail in the same way?

All extensions are affected. all statuses are set to fwd to vm. I don't see a status Not Registered. When I call 999 from a soft phone, I get a fast busy tone.

I just noticed that the updates icon on the main page has no updates showing, both the big updates button redirecting to the updates page and also the top right menu. I went into prompts and I see that both French and English are outdated. That's nonsense, we could see those prompts updates on the updates page. now we don't.

I did the 2 updates and still the same.

Finally, got the issue resolved, I simply rebooted the server. Maybe the prompts updates helped also, but It seemed that I had to reboot.

I found out that the updates pages weren't mentioning any update pending, but going into prompts and seeing both French and English were outdated. I was surprised to notice that. I did, but didn't help. I decided to reboot and it got resolved. Maybe doing the prompts updates and rebooting helped, I don't know.lol
