We use CallTriggerCmd.exe to trigger external calls from a windows application. CallTriggerCmd.exe came toegether with the old v16 Windows Client.

How can we trigger call with the V18 Windows Desktop App (or any other app)?

CallTriggerCmd.exe does not work without the old v16 Windows Client!

Hi @VSC,

I'm afraid that the CallTriggerCmd.exe pertained to the Windows app specifically. What is your exact use case, so maybe I can advise you more?

Our use case is quite simple. We maintain our customers in our CRM which is a native Windows application and want to trigger a call via 3CX using a button next to the phone number.

Do you have any advise?

I find it from a customer perspective very dissatisfying that exisitng functionality is kicked out without mentioning it at all. In this case the new Windows Desktop App should easily be capable to cope with this simple but powerful requirement.

Hi @VSC,

At this point using the Windows Client while you explore other avenues to get this done via the Desktop App is entirely doable. The v16 Windows Client still works with v18 extensions.

I'd start investigating ways to accomplish this using other methods in this time.

You can use the parameters below for call trigger. But it wont auto call. You still need to press the green call button.

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Programs\3CXDesktopApp\app\3CXDesktopApp.exe

tel:VALUEPlacing the number in the dialer
callto:VALUEPlacing the number in the dialer

We have a REST API you can use for this purpose. The one free API is MakeCall
