Hi All

Is there a callback feature code, that could be assigned to a BLF key? A customer wants to use this ( if possible ) so if they ring a busy extension, they want to press the callback key. When the busy extension becomes free it will ring the user back.

However, I did try a while ago the Call Completion on Yealink T46S and it did work. It did so via subscribing to BLF status of the called user, and once the user became available, the phone prompted to call back.

Take this with a grain of salt, it seems to me that the Yealink simply has a workaround to system not supporting this. It might not even work anymore.

If this is something you only need to setup for a few extensions, you could potentially utilize the Call Queues Call back feature. You would have to create a separate Call Queue for the extensions to use this feature and only add each individual extension to their own Call Queue. Enable Callbacks (Call Queue >> Edit >> Advanced) for those queues and make sure all extensions are logged into their individual Call Queue. Change the if Unregistered/Busy forwarding rule in the Available Profile status of those extensions to route to their Call Queue. Now, when one of these extensions is busy, calls to it will route to the call queue and the caller will have the option to press 2 for a callback.

This of course might be tedious to setup and manage and that is why I would not recommend it for a large number of extensions. Take you current configuration and requirements into consideration before proceeding. Maybe also give it a test to see if it suits your use case as the Call Queue back feature is not exactly designed for such a scenario.

Edit: Do bear in mind that having a BLF button set on users IP Phones will allow users to know if other extensions are busy or not so you might be able to avoid needing this feature altogether.

Here is how our tool works. When you call an extension and for whatever reason the call cannot be completed -- phone is not registered, busy, or presence not Available, you are prompted to either leave a voicemail (press 1) or request a call back (press 2).

If you request a call back, we monitor the status of both extensions. When both are available, we will initiate a call between the two extensions.
