Hi all,

I've got a client that takes a high volume of calls across about 4 people, they have a call que, but they don't like it ringing to the que a lot (sometimes they want to ignore the calls) so I'm looking for a way that after 15 seconds or so the call que just forwards the calls to a Hold que.

Currently, I have a 'Waiting Que' setup with a dummy user logged into a windows machine, that que rings for an hour or more, and then the Phone Operators can retrieve calls as needed. However, this morning there was an issue where that machine reset, that user was logged out, calls were dropped. Ideally, I'd be able to have calls forwarded just to 'Hold' so it wouldn't be dependent on this dummy user\wait que working properly. Anyone know a way to get this done?

Thanks.

Damn bro, keeping someone waiting for an hours just to ignore them....

If this is the case, it might be best to send the calls to a voicemail and have the caller leave a message to be called back.

I'm with @NicholasP_3CX. I'm really struggling to think of a scenario where this approach of putting people into purgatory makes sense. If these are customers, then voicemail, or you could transfer the caller to a park location.

pur-ga-to-ry
  1. (in Roman Catholic doctrine) a place or state of suffering inhabited by the souls of sinners who are expiating their sins before going to heaven.

We have a specific (non-telecom) vendor's sales team for which I'd like this feature...

I would say kick them to a Park location so they're not tied to an extension. Also easier to ignore that way
