Hi,

im using a ringgroup, when not answered call needs to be transferred to external nr.
Unfortunately i get this:
12/06/2019 11:51:27 AM - [Flow] Target endpoint for 3185760XXXX can not be built!
The nr is perfectly fine (tried other numbers as well)
any ideas why it can not forward the call?

Hi, Thanks for your help.

I have outbound rules.
So that can't be the problem.

I'm starting to believe that 3cx is not for me.
Let me describe my needs:

I'm alone and work with 5 different numbers.

Inbound
I need to see which nr. is called (incoming)
when i don't answer the call it needs to be forwarded to a external number (telephone service), the original caller must be presented to the telephone service
on 1 number (private) i like the call when not answered be forwarded to 2 external numbers (me and my wife)

Outbound
I need to be able to select a number which im calling from

My setup:

1 extension
I have 5 trunks (!) each has his own number
i have 5 inbound rules (for each number) which divert to ring groups (forward to external nr. activated)
Each ringgroup will call on all (1 extension) and forward to a specific ext. number when not answered in 20 sec.
i have 6 outbound rules 6 (default and for each number) which let me choose with which nr to call out (have to dial a pre fix for telephone nr )

Problems:
I was used to use the lines on my yealink and softphone.
Easy to spot which nr was called, easy to choose a default line for outbound
i switched to 3cx for crm integration but how can i dial out from with in CRM and choosing the correct line without having a pre fix in my crm ...doesn't make sense)

forward to external number is not working
(can not be built error message)

Can not forward to 2 external numbers

not sure if original caller is presented to telephone service with forward (can not test)
I have changed outbound parameters (from display name to originate callerID)
The trunk is set to 'blind trust' in order to support this

5 trunks needed is a bit strange if you ask me

Hopefully all is a matter of correct setup.
I'm not very experienced with this all.
i don't think my needs are very advanced but so far it feels like that i have to go deep in 3cx to get my needs fulfilled.

Thanks again for the help
very much appreciated

You need to relax your outbound rules, as the redirect uses a system account and your outbound rules are stopping the call.

Create a new rule, and place at the top - Calls to numbers starting with prefix '3185760XXXX' , then select the correct route

Hi,

The "target cannot be built" is the error you would get if the system cannot build a target destination due to no rules matching. As I mentioned above, the system (any call not made by a user extension i mean) also needs to have a rule to allow it to make calls otherwise only user extensions will be able to make calls (which you have done successfully if your phone extension makes calls)

To select which number to call from can have a couple of meanings:

1) If you have multiple trunks (different accounts with their own unique DIDs) you need a prefix so you can match the rule that allows calls from that trunk

2) If you have on trunk but many DIDs, you can assign one DID per extension to show as an outbound number ( i think this is the one you want?)

Currently there is no direct way to have a single extension dial out from multiple IDs unless you use 1) from above with prefixes.

Forwarding to 2 external numbers, not sure I understood exactly what you mean on this one.

Thanks for your reply.
I managed to solve the cannot be built error by adding an outbound rule (like you said :))

unfortunately the calling with prefix doesn't work anymore.
it was working yesterday.
Maybe due the blind trust setting which we set today because of the forwarding of the originating caller id.

But the forwarding to external telephone service is working but unfortunately the original caller id is not shown, all what is visible is +31

forwarding to 2 external numbers is needed when my private number is not answered in 20 seconds i like to forward to 2 different mobile numbers at the same time.

i have 1 extension and 5 trunks each trunk with their own unique DID

you can move the rule down, and have a blocking rule just above it.

No user extensions will match since the blocking rule will catch them

The system extensions will pass through though because they will only match the bottom rule (we use top down order for matching)

forwarding to 2 external numbers is needed when my private number is not answered in 20 seconds i like to forward to 2 different mobile numbers at the same time.
You should be able to accomplish this if the call went to a ring group consisting of two extensions (dummy extensions). Each extension would have the option ...Ring my Mobile at the same time. Put one mobile number against each extension.

thanks all

how to create a dummy extension? #dummyquestion

Just create an extension with no intention using a physical set. However, if using the ring mu mobiile option, you may have to have a device registered. You used to be able to use PUSH device, assigned to the extension, to make it appear to have a device available for a call, but I've seen mixed reviews on doing that now. In any case, you could use a two port ATA (SPA2102/SPA112, etc.) one port per extension to keep costs down.
