Hi
I am Jerome new to this forum,

I would like to know is it possible to use Port 80 instead of 5060.

Because some times the ISPs are blocking the use of SIP or VoIP stuffs to be used in their network.

If we use port 80 it always works.

in SIP port number we should use port 80

As well as we should use the register proxy name followed by :80 (proxy name:80)

Just let me know the possibility of this.

Thanks and Regards
G. Jerome

You can change the port under Settings|Network (Sorry, I have the German version, thus I do not know if this is exactly what it looks like).

But normally, this should not have any effect on blocking VoIP traffic. It is the same as stating 'We will talk in English over this line'. If you talk in Russian and somebody listens, he will at least know that this is definitely not English. So, if you use port 80, your provider will know that you definitely do not talk http over that port...

Don't know how long this will work.

Hi jeromenew,

I believe its a question chiefely for your SIP provider.

I think most do not allow for registration on Port 80. But I also know of a SIP provider near me that does allow it.

Perhaps try it first with your SIP provider and see how you go.
