So my situation is simple...

i have a self hosted could instance running without any issues. i am able to access the console and webclient from every device, wired and wireless, connected to the network where is is used except for one. to better explain, if i use my laptop via ethernet or wifi i can access it, if i use my phone on via wifi i can access it, but if i try to use the desktop it fails. now, this only happens when i try to access it via the sample.3cx/webclient but if i use the ipaddress/webclient it works just fine. can any one point me in the right direction? i dont have great memory and the sample.3cx address is much easier to remember...

if i just have to live with it i will but any help is welcomed

thanks,

Just to clarify, you can access the management console and webclients using the IP address instead of the FQDN, but when you use the FQDN inside the same network as the PBX, you cannot access it, correct?

correct all devices can access FQDN and IP address. Except one, it can only access the IP but we are all on the same network.

when you do a ping to the fqdn does it point to the correct ip address ?. If it does not, then probably a dns setting issue - Check the dns settings, with one that works

If the machine is windows, check the host file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc

I am glad that you managed to find a solution, what this would normally require is a local DNS server for which you would configure split DNS https://www.3cx.com/docs/creating-fqdn-split-dns/, so that the external FQDN, when used internally, would resolve to the local IP address of the 3cx machine so all network connected computers will be able to use the external FQDN locally.
