After adding DDI to extensions, just get 3 clicks and nothing on line for extensions ive added DDI to.
Have i missed something?
First time dealing with DDI ...be gentle with me 3CXers

Thanks

Hi @ComplexIT,

When you call the number, does the extension ring at all or not? When you mention 3 clicks, can you describe what you mean?

When you say you "can't call out"...do you mean that the extensions now assigned a DID cannot make outside calls, or, they cannot be reached, when someone outside calls their DID number?

In either case, I would have a look at the 3CX Activity Log, to see what is happening with the call(s). (may require using the Verbose setting)

Outgoing calls to external numbers

Then that would be a function of the outbound rules, or, affected by the state of the outbound trunk. Be certain that the trunk is showing as registered, place an outside call, then check the Activity Log to be certain that it is routing to the trunk, and your provider is not sending an error response. It may be that you are sending incorrect digits, or incorrect caller ID. If you recently added outbound DID caller ID to each extension, it may be in a format that your provider does not like.

Removed the outbound Caller ID from the extension and it works.
So its def to do with the ID, but of course i want it to display the DDI when calling out (It displays the main trunk)

Set number in the outbound caller ID for the extension to international format with 44 at front - and seems to dial now and display the Correct DDI - the format suggested by leejor gave me the right avenue to persue!

Glad you found the solution!

Indeed a lot of providers are "picky" with the format of the numbers when setting the Outbound Caller ID.
This most common formats are:
  • National Format: 0xxxxxxxx
  • e164 Format: +44xxxxxxxx
  • e164 w/o the '+': 44xxxxxxxxxx
If in doubt though, you need to ask your provider.

Setting this as 'Solved'.
