The CDR logs are located at “C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Logs\CDRLogs”

How do I access this on a hosted 3CX

Hi,

please note that path " “C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Logs\CDRLogs” is a path for Windows machines and it is used as an example. Hosted PBXs are Linux based and you have no access to the filesystem. Therefore you need to post the CDR records to your own server by setting up the system as CDR client. Navigate to https://{Your-FQDN: port}/#/app/settings/cdr/1 and select the below-shown option. Set the destination server IP and Port where you expect the records to be sent to.

Note: 3CX does not caches records when your CDR server is offline!

If you need access to the CDR files on a hosted 3CX, you could setup FTP services to make them accessible. Or you could use something like Filezilla.

If that does not work for you, I encourage you to look at our 3CX Exporter tool. Together with our VoIPTools Relay, We can automatically parse the CDR files and place the information in SQL/MySQL database in real-time.

@voiptoys please note that in order to setup 3rd party tools on a hosted solution is not possible as this requires access to the physical machine which in this case only the Cloud Team of 3cx has.

I believe the original question was how to access CDR files when 3CX is hosted, and not necessarily hosted with 3CX. However, to your point, if the 3CX is hosted at 3CX, there is no way to get access to the CDR --files--. Although perhaps you can get access to the socket connection.

In my view, if you need CDR information, you will need to host it somewhere other than at 3CX because the socket connection, as you noted, can not recover from any lost connections... meaning, any calls that came in while the socket connection is down, whereas, with the file based approach you can always catch up after outages...

With a Passive server you can send your CDR files to the server of your own preference as per below screenshot :

As per note on my previous reply " 3CX does not cache records when your CDR server is offline "
If CDR server goes offline then this can happen on any scenario, it doesn't matter where the PBX is installed, it can happen also on a private infrastructure.
On 3CX Hosting Platform there is no downtime on the uplinks of the PBXs, this is a professional hosting platform.

nikosT_3cx we are 100% in agreement. My only point was that the customer's custom client-side listener could go down (not the 3CX server side of the socket) and if the client is not listening, then calls could be missed. Under this scenario, there is no way to get the missed calls.

By the time 3rd Party Tools like yours ( which run as 3CX Services and are NOT made by 3CX ) can not be installed on the same machines where hosted PBXs are, i think you are on the wrong forum advertising your services.

Thank you both for your replies.
I should have been more clear that my instance is hosted by 3CX.
Anyways, thanks both.
