central phone book?

does anyone know how i can get the phones (cisco 7940) to read from a central phone book within the 3cx voip server?

Hi aftermarket,

I suspect not.

I use SPA942's (originally Linksys and now referred to as Cisco Small Business). In the case of the SPA942, I believe the central phone book can only be picked centrally via LDAP which is not the 3CX approach. So I have not managed to resolved this one for the SPA.

Hopefully someone else can post more specifically for the 7940.

Open SIPDefault.cnf and add the below at the bottom

# Phone Book Directory
directory_url: "http://192.168.1.64:5000/provisioning/cisco_phonebook.xml"

change the IP address to match your 3CX server

Have you tested that with a CISCO 7945G? If not I will and can report.

no, only tested with the 7940, but should work with the 794* Series
