Hi.

Is there an option to schedule the certification renewal process? The PBX gets restarted every time when a cert is renewed:

HTTPS Certificate was successfully renewed
--
Following service(s) were stopped recently:
3CXAudioProvider01 (10.1.x.x)
3CXPhoneSystem01 (10.1.x.x)
3CXIVR01 (10.1.x.x)
3CXQueueManager01 (10.1.x.x)
3CXPhoneSystemMC01 (10.1.x.x)

Sometimes, this happens within the office hours. How can I schedule this to the off office hours?

Best regards,

Christian

Hello @cwoller

Please note that the certification renewal happens automatically at 02:00 am server time and it should only happen once every 3 months.
Does that time coincide with your office hours or is the renewal taking place a different hour for you ?

Hi YiannisH_3CX,

thank you for your reply. 02:00 am doesn't conflict with my office hours :-) But it happend today at 08:00 am - and this conflicts with my office hours.

And you are right, it only happens every three months. How can I change the time?

Thanks & regards

Christian

Please note that the time of the renewal cannot be changed as it is hardcoded into the PBX.
Can you please check and make sure that the server time is correct and that the correct timezone is set under the PBX settings? Also can let me know of your timezone? Were the services restarted at 8 am exactly ?
What version of the PBX are you running? You can see the exact build number on the dashboard under the information column.

Just wanted to chime in that this should be configurable. We do support many businesses that are working at 2am local time.

Just add on this, recently 2 of our clients systems renewed and restarted services at approximately 7:40am

Since the option is not available i believe it would be a good idea to add this in the ideas section of forum. All posts are reviewed by their corresponding Departments and, if feasible and voted for by other users as well, may be implemented in an upcoming service pack or update.

Can you check that PBX versions and the server times of the installations that are affected? Also check what is selected as the default timezone of the PBX. Perhaps there is something in common here that will help us identify the reason this happens

They were both upgraded to SP4 since then, I think they were on SP2 & SP3 at the time with TZ - 0:00 Dublin

Hi, YiannisH_3CX.

PBX is on TZ +1 (Germany/Berlin) which is correct. I got notification mails (-> service restart) at 8 am. The new cert is valid from 06.06. - 6:54 am.

PBX is at version 15.5.10244.4

Local server time and time zone is also correct.

Best regards, Christian

Thank you for the information. Let me look into it and see if if i can find what could cause this.

Hey YiannishH,

Just happened again this morning on one @ 5:55am running SP4 (15.5.10244.4)

The certificate renewal has a range of time where it may happen, specifically it may happen anytime between 01:00 and 06:00 am local server time. This is so that not all requests from all 3CX Server in each timezone hit the cert renewal server at the same time.

If it happens outside this time range, generate the 3CX Support Info files and a windows event viewer or syslog if Linux and send me a PM. I;d like to have a look and see if we can pinpoint this.
