Change availability state on inactivity or PC shutdown with webclient

Hi all
Is it possible to change the availability state to "away" if no PC activity occur (like the windows client) or if the webclient gets closed.
The possibility to change the state according to the business hours is not practical - some people works out of business hours!
I know, to set away i can cal *31 - but a client has to be connected and a change by hand is needed.
The API is not available as well i guess - at least there is no documentation.

How can i implement a auto-away if the webclient is closed, or the PC is shutoff?

The only automatic way for now is using the Windows client
