Hello.
We have 3cx installed on a Windows 10 cloud server with our own FQDN, and I am attempting to update it to version 20. I want to update the FQDN to 3cx FQDN for the new update without altering the subscription key. Although it appears that they are modifiable in new installations, i was unable to change it back once I wrote our own address. Handling issues with 3CX due to our own FQDN was very troublesome and time-consuming. I need some help regarding this.

on v18, do a backup with license or fqdn.
In your 3cx portal, release the custom fqdn from the license key. Uninstall and reinstall 3CX (v18 works here as well) and during install, you can choose a 3cx fqdn

note in v20 you can't do a backup without fqdn, to switch fqnds you must reconfigure 3CX from scratch.

Hi, can you elaborate on the issues with your own fqdn? Is that related to the split DNS configuration? I have a working configuration on my own fqdn, and am looking to change the 3cx registerd FQDN to my own. (It now works on both, but in many cases when you click on something in the UI, it goes to the 3cx FQDN instead of the custom one).

My issue is that When i try to reinstall 3cx. the last FQDN i used (Our Own) is not releasing. I want to change it to 3CX FQDN. Changing from 3CX FQDN to Own was fairly easy. i just wrote our own FQDN while installation.

Sorry, my question was not clear. Before I change mine to our own FQDN, I would like to understand what your issues were with an own FQDN. Why are you trying to move back to a 3CX FQDN?

So when you install 3CX on V20, your backup must have FQDN, and if not you will not be able to use it.
In V18, you are still able to restore the backup (post install restore), so you can consider doing this fist. Now to release/disconnect your old FQDN from your license key, this needs to be done from the portal.3cx.com, and you must sign in to this account using license owner email address.
