Hi All,

i would like to change the extension number of the PIN Protect IVR.

By default it is set to 77, but i want to change that to a higher number, e.g. 95. I have 2 questions:

1) Is it possible to change the number?

2) If yes, what changes are necessary?

I found no setting to change the number directly, only one place related to the extrension 77. It is Settings -> Parameters -> HOTDESKING_DIALCODE

But that looks not right. Any ideas?

This is a system extension and I believe this can not be changed

I would not go and change any parameters settings unless directed by 3CX support as you may stop 3cx from working.

As @Saqqara mentioned this is not possible as the pin protect IVR is a system extension and build into the system. Why do you want to change it though ? Is there a specific reason?

Hello YiannisH,

i have the 3CX installed with 2-digit extensions to match our external telphone numbers. But now i need more extensions in a continous block of numbers, so 70 (conference -> moved to 98) and 77 (not moveable... :-( ) are simply in the way to do so...

I do not need the PIN Protect IVR at all, so it would be very convenient to move or disable it. It could be moved to e.g. **77 or so...

Hi Jens,

I see, although I must say if the extensions for the business have already reached to nearly 80, then you are very close to running out of extension numbers, so maybe consider rebuilding this PBX with 3-digits.

I know it will be a bit of work, but maybe be worth the effort because there is no converting a 2-digit installation to a 3-digit installation.

Hello NickD,

the extensions are not all used up, but i would like to create a new block from 50 to 75 to mirror the "main" extensions 10-35 for home-office use. (40-50 is used otherwise...)

That's the reason for needing the continous block starting at 50.

I know it is possible to switch to 3-digit (or longer) extension numbers...

All the best

The PIN Protect IVR cannot be changed unfortunately, so you may have to skip this number then.
