Good day everyone. We have several systems deployed for our customers and realized when we started our system, we paid for ours. We realized we should have used one of our NFR keys. I tried to change it in the PBX dashboard and says a NFR key can not be used as a new key. Is this something that 3CX can assist with or do I have to redo our PBX?

It's not the end of the world to redo our setup, I would like to avoid redoing everything but can. Any suggestions would be greatly apprecated!

Thanks!!

Backup without license/FQDN, release FQDN in portal and reinstall with the backup and NFR license. Hopefully your FQDN is still available upon release and reinstall.

That's a known restriction with NFR keys.

Indeed, this is the case for the NFR key, and reinstall of the System will be needed here, but at first the FQDN (in case you wish to use the same one) will needs to be disconnected from your portal.

Thank you for the input. Sadly I am now running V20, which does not have the option to take a backup without License/FQDN. As the only backup I can take it does not provide a option. I hope my recourse is not to start the sytem over from scratch. If their is something on the backend that 3CX can do, to avoid this, it would be super helpful.

V20 no longer have this option, so you will need to rebuild your system. You could export the users, and Trunk manually.

There are a bunch of parameters now (if you're not Hosted) that perhaps control this.

BACKUP_{LICENSE,FQDN,PROMPTS,VOICEMAILS,...}

Maybe those can be used but I haven't tested.

Thanks Oleg.

ConceptsWeb, I just saw that. As much as i would try that, i think i will probably rebuild. It's our system and its not too complicated so it won't take long. But i plan on creating a dummy system and trying that to see if it works. I will post results once I have done so.
