Changing LAN IP address of 3CX computer

Hi.

I recall that since 15.5 SP2, it was possible to change the LAN IP of a system without reinstalling.

I am doing a parallel build (on 16 SP1) and restore for a client who needs minimal downtime. I want to setup the new VM, restore config and do some basic testing before changing it to the live system IP and switching from the outgoing VM. Once I am happy all is good, I will change the IP to the operational one while the VM is isolated, so I can simply turn off the old VM and turn on the new.

Is there any special process now? Do I need to set the parameters, or just restart the system?

It should just be a matter of changing the values in the network section and then restarting the services although I'm not sure what you plan on accomplishing with your process. There isn't much to test since your trunks won't be registered nor will your endpoints. What exactly are you looking to test that hasn't been covered already here in the forums or with one of your other customers?

We are not testing the system per se. It is a production system that has been running for over a year. The customer let it get far behind (15.5 SP2) and it's on Debian 8. I want to build a new Debian 9 / 16 SP1, restore the config, etc and just make sure the VM comes up and everything looks good, so I can have minimal downtime when we switch them over. They run 24/7 and we need to keep the outage window to a minimum. Easiest way to do this is to run up on another IP, then switch across at cutover time.

Hello @datamerge

The PBX will detect the local IP change and will prompt you with a warning on the Dashboard. Clicking on the warning will take you to the network settings where the new IP will be selected. You will need to restart the requested services to apply the change. That is the whole procedure.
Please make sure that you do not keep both servers running for long as that could cause issues with your key activation.

Sure. Happy to. Not running HA in enterprise. Customer has the secondary site replicated at the hypervisor level. They manually switch on the replicated system if primary site goes down.
