changing the lan address.

i dont need to change the actual ip but want to change it from being dynamic to static after i reconfigured by dhcp server to nit include that address . is there any way?
if i jave to do a reinstall i can since its a new install without any phones attached yet. just want to know whats tye process to keep my fqdn that i configured. (sorry typing on my phone)

In Windows this is easy to do.

• Click Start Menu > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center or Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center.

Click Change adapter settings.
Right-click on Wi-Fi or Local Area Connection.
Click Properties.
Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
Click Properties.
Select Use the following IP address.
Enter the IP address, Subnet mask, Default gateway, and DNS server.
Click OK.
Your computer displays a static IP address.

For Linux, unless you have a good knowledge of it, you will need to backup 3CX, reinstall the ISO and configure static during set up then restore.

Just my 2 cents, I would actually recommend managing IP allocation from the DHCP instead of configuring the client. You could for instance have the DHCP server reserve a specific IP for the 3CX PBX Server and the 3CX PBX would be none the wiser, but it would always hold the same IP Address. I believe it would be much easier to manage especially if you have a number of devices that require a static IP.

Note: How this will be configured will of course depend on what DHCP server is being used.
